North Central Province (Near Sigiriya)
Renowned worldwide for the annual "Elephant Gathering" from June to November, where hundreds of wild elephants meet to feed and bathe around the ancient Minneriya Tank.
Polonnaruwa District
Part of the elephant corridor connecting Minneriya and Somawathiya. When Minneriya rains start, elephant herds migrate to the verdant reservoir grasslands of Kaudulla.
Habarana Corridor
A designated biosphere reserve offering consistent elephant encounters throughout the year, especially during December to March when other central parks have high rainfall.
